For a short weekend escape, we planned a family trip to Jaipur in February. The goal was to relax, explore the city’s vibrant culture, indulge in shopping, and visit a revered temple nearby. With parents and a kid along, we wanted a mix of comfort, sightseeing, and delicious food experiences.
1. Day 1: Exploring Markets and Local Delights
We checked into The Lalit Jaipur, a luxurious and comfortable stay, perfect for unwinding. After settling in, we set off for a shopping spree at Bapu Bazaar, a bustling market famous for its traditional Rajasthani textiles, jootis, and handicrafts. The vibrant colors and the old-world charm of the market made the experience delightful.
For dinner, we visited Sharma Ka Dhaba, a popular eatery known for its authentic Rajasthani flavors. The local dishes were a treat, setting the tone for our culinary adventure in Jaipur.
2. Day 2: A Spiritual Visit to Jeen Mata Temple
After a relaxing morning at the hotel, we embarked on a road trip to Jeen Mata Temple, a famous pilgrimage site located about two hours from Jaipur. The temple, nestled amidst the Aravalli hills, offered a peaceful and divine experience. The scenic drive through Rajasthan’s countryside added to the charm of the journey.
Upon returning to Jaipur, we spent the evening at leisure, soaking in the hotel’s ambiance and enjoying some quality family time.
3. Day 3: Early Morning Jaipur Exploration & Food Hopping
The highlight of our trip was the early morning drive to Hawa Mahal. The city was quiet, roads were clean, and cyclists dotted the streets, creating a refreshing and serene atmosphere. The grandeur of Hawa Mahal against the morning sky was mesmerizing, making it one of our favorite moments.
Post-sightseeing, we indulged in Jaipur’s famous street food:
Gulab Ji Ki Chai – A must-visit spot for tea lovers, serving flavorful chai with bun maska.
Rawat Ki Kachori – Famous for its crispy and spicy pyaaz kachori, an absolute delight.
Tapri Café – A modern take on Jaipur’s tea culture with a cozy ambiance and delicious snacks.
