When it comes to celebrating milestones, what better way than a serene yet lively getaway with family? For my father’s 50th birthday, we chose Jim Corbett as our destination—a perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and celebration. Here’s a glimpse into our three-day family adventure.
Day 1: A Retro Beginning
Our journey began early in the morning with a six-hour drive from Delhi to Taj Jim Corbett. We made a breakfast stop at Haldirams, fueling up for the scenic drive ahead. The hills and serene landscape set the mood for what was to come.
Upon reaching the hotel, we enjoyed a delicious lunch and some much-needed rest. The evening marked the highlight of the day—a retro-themed dinner party in the banquet hall. With live music transporting us back in time, we danced, laughed, and ended the evening with a special cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate my father’s golden year.

Day 2: Riverside Bliss and Dancing Under the Stars
Day two was all about relaxation and joy. Our afternoon began with a special riverside lunch, complete with live music and fun games. The calming sound of the river, combined with the laughter of family members, made for an unforgettable experience.
As the evening approached, we gathered for high tea at 6 PM, sharing stories and moments. The night, however, was electrifying—a dinner party with DJ-led dance music, delicious food, and drinks. It was a night of unbridled fun and family bonding.
Day 3: A Wild Finish
On the final day, we couldn’t leave without experiencing the wilderness that Jim Corbett is known for. After lunch at the hotel restaurant, we embarked on a thrilling jungle safari. Spotting wildlife amidst the dense forest was nothing short of magical and a great way to bring some adventure into the mix.
The evening was reserved for a more laid-back celebration. We ended the day with a dinner accompanied by a cozy cards party, drinks, and an energetic game of antakshari and karaoke. It was the perfect conclusion to our three-day celebration.

This trip was not just a birthday celebration—it was an opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime. Surrounded by nature, music, and family, we celebrated a momentous occasion in the best way possible.
